Simone Misiani since 2020 has been associate professor of Economic History in the Department of Political Science at the University of Teramo. He is an interdisciplinary historian with an openness to the social sciences, and in particular to economic ideas and facts. He is a specialist in the history of 19th-20th century Italy from a comparative perspective.

Since 2021 he has been a research associate at the Institute of History of Mediterranean Europe (ISEM) of the National Research Council-CNR.

He is a member of the National Association for the Interests of the Mezzogiorno.

He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Bruno Buozzi Foundation and the Ugo Spirito and Renzo De Felice Foundation.

He collaborates with the Association for the Industrial Development of Southern Italy-SVIMEZ, the Interuniversity Center for Documentation on Italian Economic Thought-CIPEI-and the Einaudi Institute for Economic Studies.

He is scientific director of the Inter-University Geopolitical Research Center on Founding Cities- CRIGECIF.

He is head of the PRIN 2020 Unit ERC SH3 Sector project title: “Inhabiting uncertainty. A multifaceted study on the relationship between social attitudes and lifestyles in pandemic spaces.”
